Review Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss | Swatches

We know all the fuss about matte lipstick and liquid lipstick. Not like any other brands who keep innovating in matte lip product. Make Up For Ever come with a new innovative gloss formula. It's Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss. Its pigments are packed with Plexi Gloss Technology with 360º reflective beads deliver a smooth, vivid colour, and maximum shine.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss comes in 35 shades from the nudest, everyday colour, to the most audacious colour that you might never thought. What colour you want? nude, pink, fuchsia, red, blue, black? They have it all. Some of the colour also have noticeable glitters on it.

First of all, let's talk about the applicator. Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss have exclusive, artist-designed Superflex Applicator. The applicator is thin with oval tip and a small hole on the side. The small hole that looks like a mouth for me (can't find any better way to describe it hahaha...), it supposed to hold the liquid for easier application. So you don't need to go back and forward to get the amount of product that you need. Once you take out the applicator from the container, the liquid that comes with it is enough for one layer application. Because the applicator is thin, it's easy to blend the colour all over the lips.

I got tree colour of Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss which are : Light Rose (201), Nude Pink (200) and Golden Red (402p). Light Rose and Nude pink is almost looks the same on the lips. I personally prefer Light Rose (201) that is slightly more pink tone then Nude Pink (200). Of course my favorite shade is Golden Red (402p). Golden Red is a red gloss with gold shimmer on it. The golden shimmer is noticeable but it doesn't feel like a chunk of grit on the lips.

The formula doesn't feel sticky once it settles. Furthermore, in order to evenly disperse it, you will need to at least apply two layers on your lips. While applying the Golden Red colour, I discovered that not only is it quite tricky to evenly apply the colours but it's also quite challenging to keep them tidy as well. As you can see from the picture bellow. The colors were not evenly applied, going as far as breaking through the lip line at first (left picture). But once it sets, it evenly covers my lips. The result is very shine no matter what's the colour you are using. 

Overall, This is the gloss that is perfect for a lip gloss lover. I personally not really like a lip gloss so this is not the product I would splurge on. Instead of using it by itself, I prefer to layered this Artist Plexi-Gloss on top of a matte or satin lipstick. Even though the colour is pigmented, the formula is still a gloss formula that have crystal hue on it. I haven't tried the boldest colour, but I think it still not as vivid as lipstick. Of course it's not, it's a lip gloss no matter what ^^
